about beth

I have always been drawn to conversations that go beneath the surface—talking about what really matters in people’s lives, especially the painful, confusing, and deeply human parts. I’m interested in how we build resilience, wellness, capacity, and alignment (inner and outer) as we move through the inevitability of pain, difficulty, change and uncertainty in life.

I do this work because it feels meaningful to sit with people in their vulnerability and challenge and find avenues for exploration and growth. I value creating a judgement-free space where you can feel seen and known. Together, we can create the space for you to make sense of your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and develop the insight and skills to move through life with greater ease, steadiness, and alignment.

At the core of my approach is the belief that people already have an innate capacity for healing, growth, and self-understanding—even when trauma, overwhelm, grief, long-standing patterns, or difficult life circumstances make it hard to access. My goal is to help you reconnect with your own strengths, values, needs, and inner wisdom through warmth and emotional attunement, honesty, insight, and practical support.

My aim is to offer a space where you feel supported to make sense of your experiences and build the resources you need to move forward on your path with greater clarity, purpose and self-trust.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP). My clinical experience has primarily been in grassroots, community-based practice, supporting individuals facing barriers to care. I have worked with a wide range of client concerns, including anxiety, depression, phobias, burnout, chronic pain, relational trauma, relationship challenges and breakdown, grief and bereavement.

I have maintained a meditation practice for over 15 years and also teach meditation to adults and children. This personal and professional commitment informs my therapeutic approach, particularly in fostering my interest in somatic and embodied modalities that honour the wisdom of the body and support greater mind-body awareness and integration. If you are interested, You can learn more about this meditation practice here: www.spiritualessentials.ca.

Mindfulness is also a foundational aspect of my work, supporting clients in developing the capacity to step back from unhelpful thought patterns, increase present-moment awareness, cultivate non-judgemental acceptance and practice self-regulation.

Prior to my training as a counsellor, my previous career was in adult education. This background informs my clinical practice in many ways, particularly related to relationship-building, psychoeducation, scaffolding learning, collaborative goal-setting, and breaking down complex challenges into manageable, achievable steps.
